CahooTravel is a travel price comparison service that helps users find the best available prices for accommodation by searching across regions and booking platforms. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to CahooTravel.

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password (or, if you use Google Sign-In, a Google account identifier). We never store your Google password.

Search history

We store the links and search queries you submit so we can show your recent searches and, on paid plans, set up price alerts. You can delete your search history at any time from your account settings.

Usage data

We collect anonymous, aggregated data about how the platform is used — page views, feature interactions, and error reports — to improve the product. This data cannot be linked back to individual users.

Cookies

We use cookies for session management, security (CSRF protection), and optional analytics and preference storage. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time.

To operate the service

Your email and search history are used to authenticate your account, display your saved searches, and deliver price alerts you have opted into.

To communicate with you

We may send transactional emails such as account confirmations, password resets, and price alert notifications. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

To improve the platform

Aggregated, anonymised usage data helps us understand which features are useful and where users encounter problems. No individual user is identified in this analysis.

We do not sell your data

We never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

We do not store payment details

Billing is handled entirely by our PCI-compliant payment processor. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or bank details.

We do not share with booking platforms

When you click through to a booking platform, that platform is subject to its own privacy policy. We do not pass your CahooTravel account details to any booking site.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it for longer (for example, billing records).

Access & portability

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time by contacting us.

Correction

If any data we hold about you is inaccurate, you can update it from your account settings or ask us to correct it.

Deletion

You can delete your account and associated data at any time from your account settings. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Objection & restriction

You have the right to object to or restrict certain types of processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
